QOTA Vegan Smoothie Recipes: 5 Ways to Make It Your Own
QOTA Vegan Complete Meal is designed as a blank canvas. It's lightly sweetened and deliberately unflavoured — which means it works as a smoothie base you can take in almost any direction. Add a handful of frozen blueberries and you've got a berry shake. Add banana and peanut butter and it's something else entirely.
The base is 30g of complete protein, 26 vitamins and minerals, and enough nutrition to replace a full meal. What you add on top is up to you.
Here are five ways our customers are making it their own.
The base 'As Is'
Start with your QOTA Vegan powder and cold water — water is the recommended liquid and keeps the flavour clean so your additions come through. If you prefer more body, unsweetened oat milk or almond milk both work well. A blender gives a smoother result than shaking, especially when you're adding fruit.
Adjust quantities to your taste — everyone has their preference for thickness.
1. Frozen Blueberry
Add a generous handful of frozen blueberries. Blend until smooth. The blueberries thicken the shake and give it a natural sweetness and a deep purple colour. Simple and one of the most popular.
Works well with: a squeeze of lemon juice if you want more brightness.
2. Banana & Peanut Butter
Add half a frozen banana and a spoonful of peanut butter (or peanut butter powder if you want less fat). Blend well. The banana adds sweetness and creaminess; the peanut butter adds richness and rounds out the protein. A customer favourite — Melissa calls it "excellent."
Works well with: a pinch of cinnamon.
3. Cacao Chocolate
Add a heaped teaspoon of raw cacao powder. Blend or shake well. Cacao is unsweetened so it adds a deep chocolate bitterness that balances the light sweetness of the base. You can add more or less depending on how intense you want it.
Works well with: a frozen banana for a chocolate-banana shake.
4. Vanilla Soy Milk
It adds smoothness, a subtle sweetness, and keeps the whole shake plant-based.
Works well with: a touch of cinnamon or brown rice malt syrup.
5. Green Smoothie
Add a large handful of baby spinach and half a frozen mango. Blend thoroughly. The spinach adds micronutrients and colour without significantly changing the flavour — mango masks it almost completely. This is the one for anyone who wants to maximise their vegetable intake without tasting it.
Works well with: a squeeze of lime juice.
A few tips from customers
- Blend, don't just shake — a blender (even a small personal blender) makes a noticeably smoother result, especially with frozen fruit.
- Frozen fruit is better than fresh — it chills the shake and creates a thicker consistency without needing ice.
